"Words are my truest friends…Their power is stupendous. Words give breath to Thought and Life itself. With them we shape the world – and taste immortality.”

--Emily Dickinson, quoted from The Dairy of Emily Dickinson

Read, Write, & Create is a non-profit organization designed to promote and advocate good literacy skills and technology proficiency through community partnerships, programs, and training. The organization is a TEA statewide approved Supplemental Educational Services provider.

Read, Write, & Create provides innovative, computer-based, multimedia language arts activities for K-12th grade students. This exciting TEKS-based program utilizes technology to capture the
K-12th grade student’s interest in reading and writing. Activities include contests, the creation of multimedia slide shows, web pages, and getting published in our magazine,
Orbit, which is available in nine branches of the Houston Public Library.

Since 1996, our program has enriched the lives of Texas children after school. We’ve partnered with youth groups and numerous school districts and campuses. Our goal is to help children and teens get motivated to learn and practice the reading and writing skills they will need for a lifetime.
